The national capital is facing a reversal in Covid 19 numbers after the third wave started fading. Delhi touched a 40-day high on Wednesday with confirmed 299 cases since yesterday. The daily cases in the capital have yielded a positivity rate of 2.49% i.e., the second-highest value in the last 3 months. Dr. Naveen Dang, Dr. Dang’s lab stated that the number of cases may be higher than reported as many will be using home test kits or self-isolating themselves instead of taking RT-PCR tests.

However, experts have stated that the hike is not a major concern as long as the hospitalization doesn’t increase.  From seven days average of 103 cases, the numbers have inched up to 180 on Wednesday. Dr. Suranjit Chatterjee, Senior Consultant, Indraprastha Apollo shared that he has seen 7-10 cases in the last week but, the patients who were hospitalized had other serious illnesses.  According to the Delhi government, only 43 Covid beds out of 9,745 are currently occupied. Dr. Tickoo, Max Saket briefed that fever, runny nose, fatigue, and gastrointestinal trouble are the only symptoms they have diagnosed till now.
